Le Calandre (Rubano)

Opened in 1981 by Erminio Alajmo and Rita Chimetto, Le Calandre restaurant became one of the best restaurants in Italy under the direction of Max and Raf. The restaurant has maintained three Michelin stars since 2003 and present in  World’s Best 50 Restaurants List for over 10 consecutive years.
Chef Massimiliano Alajmo is famous for his Cappuccino Murrina, which marries the colours of Venetian glasswork with layers of surprising flavours.
The Alajmos’ Tiramisu in a Pipe is one of Le Calandre’s iconic desserts, as well as the perfectly spherical Almond Mozzarella, an explosion of almond milk and basil on the palate. There are three tasting menus available, plus a ‘make your own’ choice of two, three or four courses from the menus.

Like many of the best restaurants in Italy, Reale is a family affair. Siblings Cristiana and Niko Romito share the reins, with Niko manning the kitchen. The restaurant is housed in a 17th Century monastery and the menu is a masterful ode to “common” ingredients like the humble onion and ubiquitous pecorino cheese.

In the heart of the natural reserve, Parco dell’Oglio Sud, there is a jewel of a restaurant that has been making top qualityfood since 1925. The restaurant is ran by the Santini family, who has passed down the legacy  through 3 different generations. It has not only been awarded 3 Michelin Stars, but is also part of Relais & Chateaux and Les Grandes Tables du Monde.
The à la carte menu’s composed of 6-7 hot and cold appetizers, pastas, soups and risottos for the main course. There is also 2-3 fish dishes according to market availability and various meat dishes. Some dishes such as pumpkin tortelli, agnolini in broth, and pistà gras are present year round on the menu, while the rest of the menu changes weekly.
