Baie D’Agay, French Riviera

  • 43°25’50″N 6°51’46″E
  • distance from PortoMirabello: 150M

The Bay d’Agay is perfectly shaped like a horseshoe, and it still has relatively few visitors even though it is just a few miles away from Saint Tropez and Nice. The bay is a natural port, known and used for thousands of years. Turquoise water, sandy sea bottom, the entire gulf is surrounded by red cliffs and steep hills. It is also interesting to explore inland, traveling up the Agay river to the volcanic peak of Estèrel. If, on the other hand, you want to stay near the water, we suggest windsurfing and kayaking, exploring the Calanques.
For fun in the evening you will need to settle for the small local cafés, and maybe it is for this reason that many superyachts pass by it on their way to the more famous French Riviera, but for those looking for total relaxation and adventure, Bay d’Agay is a great spot to visit.

Porquerolles, French Riviera

  • 43°00’49″N 6°13’52″E
  • distance from PortoMirabello: 180M

Notwithstanding its proximity to the popular and lively French Riviera, Porquerolles Island is the largest and most western of the small archipelago of Hyères Islands. It seems to be immersed in another dimension, a million light years from the clamor and pomp of France’s Mediterranean coast. Golden beaches in the north, like the stupendous Notre Dame beach, a destination frequented by superyachts, but never crowded, and rocky coasts that tower over the sea in the south, describe the geography of the territory.
Porquerolles is an immense pedestrian island free of cars. The small town is on the northern coast, embracing the port and the Place d’Armes, the town square where the island’s few inhabitants play petanque and where the maximum expression of sophistication is to sit outside one of the small cafés, sipping pastis. True gourmands, on the other hand, can go to Restaurant Olivier (making a reservation ahead of time) in Le Mas du Langoustier to enjoy excellent food, recognized as such even by the Michelin guide.
The truly charming characteristic of this island is the enchanting blend of colors in the sea, from bright turquoise to intense sapphire blue. Its exclusive bays offer some of the best moorings in the Mediterranean, a paradise just …. NM from PortoMirabello!

Italian Riviera

The tranquil Ligurian coast is the perfect place to dock after having traveled through and thoroughly experienced the intense life of the nearby French Riviera.
The stretch of coast between Saint Tropez and Portofino has everything: scintillating light, warmth of the south, and elegance of the north. Boutiques with irresistible charm and designer shops settle in the narrow roads of the small towns clinging to the coast, brought to life by cafés and small restaurants on the seashore, creating a truly unique environment.
Italians love la bella vita, and nowhere is this so clear and captivating as along the Italian Riviera.

The Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera

  • 44°7’14″N 9°43’22″E
  • distance from PortoMirabello: 5-8M

Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, the five towns clinging to the precipitous coast of the Ligurian coast, the Cinque Terre, which, since 1997, have been listed by Unesco as a World Heritage Site with the following description:

The eastern Ligurian Riviera of the Cinque Terre is a cultural site of outstanding value, representing the harmonious interaction between people and nature to produce a landscape of exceptional scenic quality that illustrates a traditional way of life that has existed for a thousand years and continues to play an important socio-economic role in the life of the community.

Over the course of centuries the whole area has maintained its original character thanks to its steep, rocky coasts, softened by the terracing that man has built over time, dedicated to olive trees and vineyards. The five towns are connected by a train with a famous itinerary, the Sentiero Azzurro (Azure Path), providing spectacular panoramas. Traveling this route you will enjoy the aromas of the Mediterranean and the healthy air that rises from the sea and into the Mediterranean scrub. Shaded olive groves along the tops of the cliffs and pebble beaches dot the full length of the journey, which can take some hours to travel for those who want to do it quickly, or a day-long excursion for those who want to take it more slowly. Walking under the overhanging cliffs, among olive groves and vineyards, admiring wonderful locations adorned with semitropical aloe is an experience worth living. Resting and refreshing oneself in a typical Ligurian trattoria, tasting the simple local cuisine featuring ingredients from land and sea, and full enjoying Sciaccetrà, the straw wine produced in the Cinque Terre using grapes grown on the cliff terraces that hang over the sea. It is an exceptional view, even from the seas on board your superyacht, rich with coves where you can drop anchor and dive into crystal waters with a rocky bottom.

Portofino, Riviera Italiana

This Ligurian refuge was discovered by the Jet Set when the Duke and Duchess of Windsor signed the guest book at Hotel Splendido in the early 1950s, while visiting Rex Harrison and Lilli Palmer. Richard Burton proposed to Elizabeth Taylor at the Puny restaurant at the port. Behind the restaurants, the cobblestone streets are dotted by boutiques including Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dior, but to find true relaxation you need to climb higher. The exclusive Hotel Splendido is on the hill, host to some of the world’s most famous celebrities, and offering a fantastic view of the horseshoe port and the vivacious activity in the town year round.
